Global leaders will explore why advancing AI must be matched by an equally intentional investment in human intelligence, emotional development and connection.
NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Power of Words® will convene an official Digital@UNGA Affiliate Session on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Celeste Bartos Theater at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City. The official session will run from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. ET, followed by extended executive dialogues, additional panel discussions, and open audience engagement through 12:30 p.m. ET.
Titled “Human Intelligence in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: The Power of Words® and Relational Emotional Development as a Framework for Human Flourishing,” the gathering will bring together cross-sector leaders across technology, business, education, digital wellbeing, and social impact.
As organizations invest rapidly in the architecture of artificial intelligence, this gathering will ask an equally urgent question: Are we investing with the same intention in our human architecture?
The conversation will explore the concept of “dual intelligence”, the deliberate alignment of artificial intelligence with the distinctly human capacities of empathy, judgment, emotional regulation, resilience, ethical responsibility and connection.
“We are developing artificial intelligence at extraordinary speed, but the future will not be determined by technology alone,” said Deborah Sawaf, Founder and CEO of The Power of Words®. “It will also be determined by the emotional and relational intelligence of the people who design it, lead it, and use it. If AI is advancing, our humanity must advance with it.”
Featured Speakers & Global Voices
The session brings together a distinguished cross-sector collective of leaders, decision-makers, and visionaries. Among the confirmed participants and moderators are a high-level representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Bangladesh, as well as Shelley Zalis (Founder & CEO, The Female Quotient), Dr. Melisa S. Valle (SYNC / Ithra), Dr. C. Raj Kumar (Founding Vice-Chancellor, O.P. Jindal Global University), Fernando Garibay (Polymath & Creative Executive), Juliet Scott-Croxford (Media & Business Executive), Joelle Jarvis (Leadership Strategist), and Dr. Justin Thomas (Human Performance Lead).
Additional corporate leaders, international delegates, and partner organization representatives are continuously being added to the official program.

The session will introduce Relational Emotional Development, or RED EQ™, as a practical framework for moving emotional intelligence beyond awareness and into repeatable daily practice. Developed through the work of The Power of Words®, RED EQ™ helps individuals and institutions recognize emotions, communicate needs, respond more intentionally and strengthen the human relationships upon which flourishing depends.
Key areas of discussion will include:
• Aligning technological capability with human judgment, responsibility and emotional maturity
• The role of human intelligence in the leadership of AI-enabled organizations
• Digital wellbeing, loneliness and the changing nature of human connection
• Moving from “compete” to “connect” within teams, institutions and societies
• Embedding emotional and relational development within education, business, healthcare and public life
• Turning emotional awareness into practical tools that can support prevention, resilience and collective wellbeing
The planned program will combine opening remarks, moderated cross-sector conversations and an experiential introduction to The Power of Words® methodology. This includes action-oriented global initiatives such as the Band Bond Initiative™, which embodies the organization’s Two-Hand Principle™: worn on the right hand to signal what you are working for, and on the left hand to signal a need for support—creating a visible cue where seeing a band on someone’s left hand calls on others to step forward and offer assistance.
“We have spent enormous energy asking what artificial intelligence will be capable of doing,” Sawaf added. “We must now ask who we need to become. Human intelligence cannot be treated as a soft skill on the sidelines of technological progress. It is the foundation that will determine whether innovation ultimately divides us or helps us flourish.”
